These are so-called Chindogu items - unique pieces created only for laughs, never actually meant to be used (or, heaven forbid, sold). Google it.
I don't know lol. The butter stick looks pretty interesting. I might buy one =)
Well if you buy it then it is no longer a Chindogu. Just bought the book ' The Bento Box of Unuseless Japanese Inventions by Kenji Kawakami.' ISBN 978-0-393-32676-5 if you wanna buy it, last week to read on the Shinkansen home...there are lots of great ones but they have rules to what makes a Chindogu and tenet number 5 is they are not for sale, not tradable commodities. If you accept money for one you surrender your purity. They must not even be sold as a joke. Rule 9 also says they must not be copyrighted, patented, collected or owned. Its serious stuff there is a 10,000 member International Chindogu Society. Only in Japan
